The spring transfer portal for college football is ongoing, but it is starting to slow down as it has officially closed, and many top players have already made their decisions.

As is customary, there are clear winners and a few losers from this cycle. Despite the lack of significant activity in the spring transfer portal window, there are still many teams about which we have uncertainties as we move from April to summer workouts.

Here are the teams that saw improvements, regressions, or are still uncertain after the spring window. Two teams in Florida should be pleased with the portal rewards they have received, so let's begin there.

WINNER: UCF KNIGHTS

Despite competition from significant programs, UCF has successfully recruited top talent, such as four-star RB Frankie Arthur from Texas. Once again, we witnessed UCF's impressive ability to close deals during the spring transfer portal window successfully.

UCF signed Peny Boone, a highly regarded four-star running back from Toledo who was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year for 2023. Miami transfer Nyjalik Kelly, a highly sought-after four-star edge player, was also successfully recruited by them despite facing competition from several prestigious programs. In their recruitment efforts, the team secured top-ranked players like Tre'Quon Fegans from USC and Cedrick Hawkins from Ohio State.

Also, let's not forget about Jacurri Brown. The Knights most likely got a quarterback from Miami who will be their long-term solution at the position. Gus Malzahn's system couldn't find a better fit than Brown.

By adding critical players at various positions and remaining in contention for top recruits, the Knights are proving to be highly competitive in recruiting despite being just one year into their tenure in the Power Four conferences. The Big 12 Conference may be in trouble if UCF continues on this success.
